The Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers is a multi displinary institution
covering all aspects of engineering in Zimbabwe. This enables the Institution
to provide the leadership required to address the multidisciplinary
challenges facing the engineering profession. The Institution is dedicated
to fostering and promoting the art and science of engineering for the
well – being of mankind. It is committed to developing and communicating
the knowledge necessary to promote and support a safe, innovative and
efficient engineering profession together with related disciplines and
interests.
- Provide for membership and association of engineers of various disciples
- Provide for the determination of the rights, privelages and conduct
of its members,
- Provide for the formation of committees, areas, divisions or branches
for the advancement of the engineering profession.
- Provide a platform for inquiry into professional conduct of members
- Provide for the preservation of the copyroght of papers, reports
of proceedings and discussions of the institution
- To set and maintain appropriate standards of engineering and technician
competence.
- To promote the advancement of Engineering and facilitate the transfer
and dissemination of engineering knowledge.
- To raise the character and status of the profession and promote
public awareness and confidence in it.
- To ensure correct standards of professional conduct and ethic.
