This logo offers a new image for the institution as it
launches into the 21st century. It has more comtemporary and dynamic
form the the previous crest logo and aims to reflect the creativity
of our national engineers. The logo in colour form comprises the symbolic
colours of our national flag: red gold, green, black and white. The
graphic is a stylised form of the institution's initials or anagram,
ZIE, making a connection with relevant engineering symbols and issues.
Z

in the form of an electrical spark or lighting bolt. This makes a connection
with electrical and electronic spheres and also speaks of energy/prower
and dynamism.
i

in an abstract human form of a head and body, represents people and
society centre of what we do. The golden head of the i can also be seen
as a rising sun, symbolizing the dawn of a new era within the institution
and the whole nation as a whole. it also symbolises illumination, growth
and hope for the future! The Green pillar part of the I can be connected
with structural engineering, symbolizing rigidity and stability. The
colour green symbolises the environment and sustainability, crucial
aspects of engineering in this new millenium.
E
