The OVERALL GOAL (VISION) has been set as,
To be recognised as a credible Engineering Institution
whose members are leading players in wealth creation (sustainable growth)
in Zimbabwe.
In our vision, we want the Zimbabwean Engineer to lead and be
led, create wealth and enjoy the wealth. This, we believe, makes him
a part of a credible group (or institution) of Professionals in the
society in which he lives.
The PURPOSE (MISSION) for aiming for this GOAL is,
To enable our members to consistently provide
innovative, workable and economic solutions to engineering problems
in society, through upholding high engineering standards and ethical
values in the practice of the profession.
This mission acknowledges and accepts that
engineers are key players in all possible levels of engineering society
towards the creation of wealth which is the vehicle for sustainable
growth and guarantor of a healthy society.
- To set and maintain appropriate standards
of competence for Engineers and Technicians
- To promote the advancement of engineering
and facilitate the transfer and dissemination of engineering knowledge.
- To raise the character and status of the profession
and promote public awareness of and confidence in it.
- To ensure the correct standards of professional
conduct and ethics.
