Student

Anyone who is undertaking a course of study which will eventually qualify him/her for some other grade of membership is entitled to join the Institution as a Student. Students are transferred to Graduate or Graduate Technician when the Institution obtains proof of their graduation from the educational institution concerned. In the case of students with approved Universities, this is obtained automatically.

Affiliate

This grade is for a person who is not a professional engineer or engineering technician but who, by connection with engineering and the sciences, is qualified to act together with professional engineers in the advancement of engineering

Basic Qualification Criteria:
A Student,

• is of an age between 30 years and above a lower age limit of 17 years,
• is undertaking a course of study leading to an acceptable engineering or technical qualification.

An Affiliate,

• is anybody who is not an engineer but is qualified to act with professional engineers in the advancement of the engineering.
