INDIVIDUAL MEMBER GRADES
The various grades of membership of the institution are designed to include all those in Zimbabwe involved in engineering while distingushing between the various roles fulled by its members. The following are the grades of institution members: Honorary Fellow, Fellow, (Corporate) Member, Associate Member, Technician, Graduate, Graduate Technician, Student, Affiliate, Companion. Below is a guide to typical membership and upgrading routes for members.

These are the typical routes normally adopted to progress from one grade to another. it is emphasised that the paths are typical only and membership may be obtained in ay grade for which a person is qualified or experienced in, regardless of previous membership in other grades.

ASSOCIATE & AFFILIATE ORGANISATION GRADES
The following are the grades of associated and affilate organisations of the institution: Affiliate Category 'a', Affiliate Category 'b', Affiliate Category 'c', Local Institution, LDD Institution.

STATUS FOR THE GRADES
The following are the status associated with each of these grades above: Applicant, Active, Too Long in Grade, Institutional Member, Retired, Retired No Subs, Written Off.
